Student VolunteersACM ISS 2022
Call for Participation: Student Volunteers (SVs)
Student volunteers are an essential part of the ISS conference. We seek proactive and enthusiastic SVs to help us with providing a smooth and successful conference experience.
As of August 2022, the ISS 2022 is planned to be held in a hybrid format, involving both on-site activities and an extensive online component. We’re looking for people eager to assist us in handling both virtual and on-site participation. Your tasks as an SV would involve helping attendees and assisting speakers on-site and/or through online support channels, archiving sessions, and keynotes, facilitating organizers, providing information, and generally being a point of contact for all conference attendees. The rapidly changing pandemic situation forced us to delay the SV lottery. Applications for SV spots will start in mid-September. We’ll update this page as soon as we confirm all the necessary information. SV spots will be available both for students who are eager to visit Wellington, as well as students who consider virtual participation only. As an acknowledgment of the time and energy put in as an SV, we are happy to waive your conference fee and provide unique opportunities to network with an international group of peers. Dedicated SV activities will be provided both online and on-site. Acting as an SV you agree to several responsibilities
- You will be asked to work up to 20 hours over the course of the conference (before, during, and/or after)
- You will be asked to attend the (online) SV orientation before the start of the main conference
- You will be asked to be present (online or on-site, depending on your status) for the entire duration of the conference, including workshop days
This opportunity is open to all students working in areas related to ISS. While previous experience is a plus, it is not a requirement – all necessary instructions and training will be provided.
Don’t miss the opportunity to join this great team!
